The National Chicken Council welcomes the endorsement of its guidelines for humane processing of chickens by the Food Marketing Institute and the National Council of Chain Restaurants. Our guidelines are part of our commitment to ensure that chickens are handled in a humane and responsible manner through production and processing. FMI/NCCR has referred to us some suggestions made by their academic advisors for refinement of the guidelines relating to live production. We look forward to responding to these suggestions.
