Kincannon & Reed to Handle Search for Candidates for NCC President

The executive recruitment firm of Kincannon & Reed will handle the search for potential successors to George Watts as president of the National Chicken Council, NCC Chairman Bernard Leonard announced today.

“The NCC Executive Committee selected Kincannon & Reed in view of its experience in finding qualified candidates for top executive positions in agriculture, the life sciences, and associations,” said Leonard, who is group vice president/Food Service, Tyson Foods, Inc., Springdale, Arkansas. “We fully expect that finding a suitable replacement for George will be challenging, so we want to cast a wide net and work with an experienced and capable firm.” Watts will retire March 31, 2011, after 38 years as president.

The search will be managed by Michael L. Cooper, K&R managing partner, and Greg Duerksen, president of the firm. Inquiries and expression of interest should be directed to them at: Michael L. Cooper, Managing Partner, (480) 924-1220, [email protected]; or Greg Duerksen, President, (540) 941-8321, [email protected].

Leonard said the Executive Committee’s goal is to have a successor in place before Watts leaves at the end of March.

The National Chicken Council represents integrated chicken producer-processors, the companies that produce and process chickens. Member companies of NCC account for more than 95 percent of the chicken sold in the United States.

Kincannon & Reed is the only retained executive search firm focused
exclusively on the food, agribusiness, and life sciences sectors. Founded in
1981, the firm serves clients throughout the world from its offices in the
Americas, Europe, and Asia/Pacific.
