FMIC, ACIP, NAM and SHRM Urge Vote on Portman-Tester Amendment

Washington, D.C. – The Food Manufacturers Immigration Coalition (FMIC), the American Council on International Personnel (ACIP), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) today released the following joint statement:

“Our organizations strongly support the Portman-Tester amendment because U.S. employers need a 21st century verification system that moves toward a fully electronic, integrated and secure system that prevents identity theft and provides certainty in hiring.

“We urge the Senate to hold a vote on Senators Portman and Tester’s amendment.”
